A quick update of data with research in the last few months. There are now nearly 2,000 names in the database.

A new update today with an amended Watts line. Some erroneous names have been removed and more information added from the 1881 census,

Mapping ancestry

Using the new Google Maps interface, I've produced a map of my ancestry covering five generations.

The red marker is me; my parents are yellow, my grandparents green, my great-grandparents blue and my g-g-grandparents purple.

The four lines trace four particular descendencies: the blue line trace the Howells line back to Gwynfe; the turquoise line to a Baily from Newton St Loe; the red line to Oxfordshire Pinnocks; and the green line to a Blackler in Romsey, via Lancashire. (You may have to reload to see all the lines and points.)

Thanks to various contacts made online, I've been able to expand a number of branches recently. Up-to-date data is now online.

I've just uploaded an updated version of the database, although I seem to have lost the "random image" feature on the front page. (Update: Now fixed.)

I'm also playing around with the user functions, which would allow family members to login and access the restricted parts of the site. No timescale yet for implementing this feature fully.
