Since then, the council has posted a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ealing.gov.uk\/press_releases\/2007\/news_stories\/ealing_southall_by-election_-_latest_news.html\">minimal news story<\/a> linking to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ealing.gov.uk\/ealing3\/export\/sites\/ealingweb\/press_releases\/2007\/_docs\/statement_of_persons_nominated.pdf\">list of candidates<\/a> &#8211; although there&#8217;s still nothing on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ealing.gov.uk\/services\/council\/elections\/\">the Elections page<\/a>. As I said then, the short by-election timetable that Labour have imposed puts a lot of pressure on electoral administration, which perhaps explains the lack of information online.<\/p>\n<p>To <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sedgefieldlibdems.org.uk\">Sedgefield<\/a>, then, where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sedgefield.gov.uk\/\">the council<\/a> had even less notice of the by-election. With a week and a half to polling day, you&#8217;d be forgiven for thinking the election for Tony Blair&#8217;s replacement <a href=\"http:\/\/sedgefield.moderngov.co.uk\/mgMemberIndexMP.asp\">as MP<\/a> would be mentioned even once &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sedgefield.gov.uk\/ccm\/navigation\/council--government-and-democracy\/elections\/\">but no<\/a>.
