{"id":344,"date":"2005-07-15T13:57:45","date_gmt":"2005-07-15T12:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.willhowells.org.uk\/blog\/?p=344"},"modified":"2005-07-19T11:18:52","modified_gmt":"2005-07-19T10:18:52","slug":"strolling-in-eh4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.willhowells.org.uk\/blog\/2005\/07\/15\/strolling-in-eh4\/","title":{"rendered":"Strolling in EH4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve got a system upgrade in process at work so most of this week I&#8217;ve been at a different campus, passing the downtime by reclassifying pamphlets with National Library of Medicine shelfmarks to the Dewey Decimal System.<\/p>\n<p>In my lunch hour yesterday, I went for a walk up the road and stumbled upon a gate marked <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fettes_College\">Fettes College<\/a> &#8211; alma mater of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.willhowells.org.uk\/blog\/?p=152\">the PM<\/a>. I couldn&#8217;t see much of the college itself but today I walked a different way and found myself looking down a long drive at the school&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fettes.com\/tour\/theschool.htm\">imposing main building<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As of Monday, I&#8217;ll be back in my usual office but seconded for several weeks to the Systems team, so my work will change from standing orders, cataloguing, classifying, invoice processing, etc., to techy stuff with the library management system, which will be very interesting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve got a system upgrade in process at work so most of this week I&#8217;ve been at a different campus, passing the downtime by reclassifying pamphlets with National Library of Medicine shelfmarks to the Dewey Decimal System.
