There are a significant number of Dems who are to the right of pretty much all of the Conservative party, e.g. with theocratic tendencies or an inclination to kow-tow to the Repugnicants. This is probably about right - especially if you take into account the fact the even the Democrats in the USA are probably a fair bit right of the Conservatives on the UK on both social and economic issues.
