I read Tennant's name yesterday, before the Eccleston quitting story came out.  The story was that the series was going to end on a cliffhanger with the Doctor apparently dead, allowing Rose to find a way to resurrect him early in the new series - thus allowing him to be Eccleston or Tennant as required.  I don't know how that fits with the idea of Eccie appearing in the Christmas Special, though.</description>
